A Tribute to Mom...
After a long courageous fight with Parkinson's Disease, Mom passed on to a better place early this morning. I'm happy for her.
We knew the end was very close. The family was able to gather around her, take a few photos, and say our goodbyes last night before she drifted off in her sleep. This photo will always be special to me.
Mom was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease when she was in her early forties. She was able to live a full and active life until about eight years ago. At that point, the disease began to progress and take away some of her freedoms. Just a few years ago, she lost her ability to walk and needed assistance for everything she did.
Mom was eighty years old and a real fighter. And now, thankfully she won't need to fight anymore. She can rest.

James... I'm so sorry to read about your Mom! It was special that you could all be there w/ her in her last moments. What a precious picture, James...that's definitely one to cherish. I'll be praying for you & your family.
I can't believe my timing...I just found an old post of yours on the MSN board & clicked on your blog link & here I am.
We (I) miss you on the board. Hope you're doing well. Come say hi soon, okay?
Take care.

James, I am one of those from the "old days" on WWGoaD.
Please accept my sympathy on your mother's passing... and know that you are in my prayers at this difficult time.

Julie and Diva... Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers.
I haven't had time yet for all this to really hit me, but right now I just feel relief. Mom suffered for so many years and had been in hospice care for the past year.
I don't feel a lot of saddness, probably because I've worked through so much of that during her time of suffering. I'm just happy for her and relieved that she's not suffering anymore.
Thank you for being such great friends!
James
